Voluntary Position

Project Coordinator

Part-time voluntary position

Position location: Tasks can be completed from home or at ISS Australia’s office in Melbourne CBD

Supervised by: ISS Australia Director – Fionn Skiotis and Animama Director – Hagai Avisar

  1. Animama

Animama is about animations for mothers. It is a not-for-profit project operating under the auspices of International Social Service (ISS) Australia.

Animama aims at providing mothers in the developing world with health literacy and parenting education through animations.  We produce short, easy to follow animations that show mothers how to keep their babies and young children safe, healthy and well developed. The animations are culturally appropriate, offered in several languages and follow international standards for health information.

We have completed the initial phase of the project – creating the website and the first videos. We now aim to: engage leaders in the field to support our project, network with other organisations, and fundraise for more videos and distribution.

  1. The Role

Animama is seeking a volunteer to help with managing the project as it grows into its next phases. The voluntary position may change into a paid role if fundraising is successful.

Your initial task will be to complete the translation of the videos and website into 20 languages. This will include:

  1. Grant applications to raise the funds needed for translations
  2. Coordinate the translation project –  translating content,  dubbing the videos, website integration

Your future tasks will be to raise Animama’s profile in the local and international community through networking with organisations, leaders and experts in the field.

The position reports to Fionn Skiotis and Hagai Avisar.
